Friday, May 25 and Monday, May 28, 2007, the building of Geology University of Rome La Sapienza, will hold a seminar entitled "The Earth has SETE ... RECLAIM WATER !!!", organized by the collective of Sciences. The seminar aims to highlight such as water, good fundamental for life to all living beings, is undergoing damage because of the enormous human and as more and more frequent in the world is the attempt (sometimes successful) private company to make water a commodity, in contradiction with what we believe is a fundamental concept, namely that water is a good of all and as such can not become the object of profit.
The seminar is divided into two days.
On the day of 25 May will talk about the scientific aspects of water resources and how man has a detrimental impact on it. He will speak to Professor Marco Petitta, hydrogeologist for the Department of Earth Sciences, with a speech entitled "The groundwater resources of the natural system and human pressure." With the participation of Professor Mario Dall'Aglio then, Professor in Geochemistry Environment in the same department, along with Sabrina Vella and Joan married to the intervention "Water: essential food and mother's life." Afterwards there will be an intervention of Professor Robert Winch, a professor of Zoology at the University La Sapienza, entitled "Living fossils of groundwater," and finally discuss Laura Mancini, Institute of Health with a report entitled: "The voice of the river. "
The day instead of 28 will frame a socio-economic "problem water", focusing on how this resource is increasingly becoming a commodity in the global economy, and how to protect it instead
